Flag stories
Three modern interpretations
As someone who was literally a boy scout (during the late Jurassic) I cringe when I see the flag abused, whether left out at night or in the rain, and especially when emblazoned with the picture of a wanna be autocrat or an assault rifle, as those on the far right are wont to do. And for advertising? Forget it. On the other hand, the proper way to dispose of an American flag is to (respectfully) burn it.
But that’s not what this post is about: If you’re obsessed with the niceties of US flag display there are plenty of authoritative sources elsewhere. Instead, we’ll explore some other flag-inspired images reminiscent of the US flag but telling stories other than the conventional one about 13 colonies and 50 current states.
