The title says it all: Jacques Tilly, Free spirit. In giving this plug for a wonderful show at a terrific museum, I don't want to give the impression that the 200th anniversary Düsseldorfer Rosenmontag parade was exclusively about Tilly, for it wasn't. This year Jacques designed a dozen of the floats for a parade that was several kilometers long. Below, for my paid subscribers, I show eight from this year's parade. Photographs of many of the past years' highlights (along with lots of other material) will continue to be on display at the Stadtmuseum Düsseldorf through 10 August. If you're going to be in town, don't miss it!
Oh, and by the way, one of the following images might be judged NSFW here, though I did not see any parents shielding the eyes of their children when the float came by in Düsseldorf.
